HomeSocial Media5 Social Media Tips Every Startup Should Know
  1. Know Your People—Who is Your Audience? By identifying your audience early on, you can better craft posts, promotions, write better blogs, and create stronger campaigns. Identifying your audience is critical and can help your entire brand advance a more dialed-in strategy. In order to connect with your customers and potential customers, you have to know when and where they’re online and what will draw them in.
  2. Consistency is Key. Deliver high-quality content across all relevant channels (finding those relevant channels lies in knowing your people!). You don’t want your followers thinking you went out of business because you haven’t updated your page in 6 months—or worse, questioning if you even launched in the first place because they can’t find you anywhere on social media.
  3. Engage, Don’t Simply Sell! People want to buy from brands they identify with, even if it may not be the best product on the market. Give employee updates, share fun industry trends, and spread exciting local news. Get your followers intrigued by your posts and excited about your brand, rather than being another advertisement in their newsfeed.
  4. Respond & Interact. Brands that interact and engage with their followers are #1 in my book. Your customers want to be heard—and these days social media is the way to do it. Address the bad review on your Facebook page, thank the follower who posts an Instagram of your product in use, and interact with other brands that share relevant industry trends. Your brand will instantly become more likable.
  5. Keep it Chill. You don’t have to be the #1 brand on social media—you don’t even have to be #100! Social media isn’t most brands’ way to success. Just be present, relevant, and consistent and your customers will thank you for it.
